    You’re invited to attend the upcoming 20th Anniversary Speaker Series: Data and Why It Matters for Early Learning & Care, happening Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 6pm-7:30pm.

    Hosted by the Education Trust—West, the webinar will explore the long-standing shortcomings in early education data availability and the important role data plays in improving equity for young learners and those who care for them. We will be joined by speakers from the CA Department of Education, CA Department of Social Services, Child Trends, Learning Policy Institute, and the Education Trust. If you’d like to join us, please register here. 

    Featured speakers will provide an overview of the current early learning and care data landscape from a national and state perspective. Together, we’ll explore the necessary changes and recommendations for aligning early learning and care data. We will close by uplifting engagement opportunities for families, early learning educators, child care providers, policymakers and the public to ensure California’s Cradle-to-Career Data System integrates early learning and care data.  We look forward to having you join us to discuss how to better align early learning and care data and explore opportunities to partner in this work together!     Register for the event 

    With California’s expansion of transitional kindergarten (TK) and the development of a P-3 credential, the state has a pivotal opportunity to build a teacher workforce that has deep expertise in working with our youngest learners and families. It also provides an opportunity to tap the deep expertise of those in the early childhood field.

    Join CCSESA, CCTE, PEACH, and LPI to learn about the current policy landscape, network, and collaborate. We will explore strategies to transform early childhood teacher preparation in California to support equitable access to high-quality early childhood educators across a range of settings. Through short presentations, small group discussions, and professional networking, we hope to create a collective vision, building from the opportunities that TK expansion and a new P-3 credential provide. We will aim to start identifying ways to align, articulate, and integrate work across sectors to support a highly prepared, growing early childhood teacher workforce in a way that amplifies the work you are already doing.

    Working together, we can build a strong and accessible pipeline of early childhood teachers and provide high-quality experiences for California’s children and families.
